Sorry for the header: It’s puerile - but someone had to make the crack!
DPF has announced he’s going to open up a daily general debate topic to allow people to unburden themselves on a range of topics. This should be good. I see the more motivated and intelligent posters like Sonic, Tane Sam and Rogernome seizing the opportunity to vent while the ever reliable dullards like Inventory2, Bok and burt will flail about with their usual ineffectual and vaguely abusive thumpings.
To be honest, I think DPF’s not thought this through. As Ralston noted recently, the Left tend to out argue and generally outperform the Right in these electronic fora. DPF may be thinking about trying to rein in his threads in the lead up to the Election but a General Debate loosens the strictures to potentially allow National to get a hammering. I wonder if he cleared this with HQ?

I’ve been watching what’s happening with the general debate thread and I think Farrar has made a mistake. His chimps go there to shitfight in the comments section and get a support-group fix for their bigotry rather than to take their lines from Farrar. Up until now they’ve taken those lines almost incidentally because they have to read them to comment.
All this new section will mean is they won’t have to listen to him anymore. Already I see the new section is stealing attention from Farrar’s main posts. That means he has to either remove the general comments or use the space to plant his memes as comments. My advice is to keep an eye out for new commenters using Farrarisms in the general section.

To be perfectly honest I blocked kiwiblog from my hosts file after giving them the finger the other day and never looked back. Can anyone fill me in on the lunacy taking place over there?
Also, someone should invite Hinamanu over to Kiwiblogblog.
