As Good As It Gets?

Agenda on Sunday was awful. The panellists didn’t want to listen to the people they were interviewing (both Russell Norman and David Parker did very well) and had their own agendas to pursue. Jenni McManus was a disgrace. Argumentative and rude, she talked over answers and other questions, and spent half the time making her own speeches as self-appointed representative of the oppressed upper-middle class.

Agenda is meant to be the foremost political interview show in New Zealand; is that really as good as it gets?

Agreed. McManus’ behaviour was dreadful - she wouldn’t even let Russell Norman speak.

  2. bigbruv Says:

Ha ha..why am I not surprised that you chaps did not like Agenda.

Norman was exposed as a liar as was Parker, McManus asked reasonable questions and in my opinion did not go hard enough on both Norman and Parker.
Trotter was the one who really got stuck in, when one of your own pinko pals starts saying that the govt has got it wrong then you know things are all over for this corrupt govt.

    ‘lies’?

[...] Tyler over at KBB has an interesting comment on Agenda’s dreadful panel discussion yesterday: Agenda on Sunday was awful. The panelists [...]

  5. bigbruv Says:

Yep, are you surprised?, Parker has been caught lying twice already, it would be safe to assume that everything the man says is questionable.

  6. sardonik Says:

Getting back to Wat’s original question, I think the answer is - regrettably - ‘yes’.

So much for the Charter raising the quality of TV….

  7. stephen23 Says:

What lies? I didn’t watch it.

  8. Wat Tyler Says:

Usually Agenda is OK. On Sunday it was awful. I do hope they pick their act up.

Step 1 - only have real journalists on the panel - not McManus.

  9. Wat Tyler Says:

I don’t know what lies BB is talking about.

Russell Norman and Parker both did a good job saying you cna’t expect isntant solutions ot systematic problems like oil prices and cliamte change, and that the energy situation is not the crisis some would like it to be.

  10. stephen23 Says:

Hopefully you aren’t suggested BB is lying/trolling…

  11. robby110 Says:

shame about BB’s trolling, actually, because I thought a discussion about McManus’ tactics would be interesting.
I heard Brownlie do the same thing this a.m.. Don’t listen to any of the answers to your questions just keep repeating your accusations - no matter how ludicrous.

  12. imcheezy Says:

Bloody hell. McManus is still on telly? She’s always been very uneasy on both the eye and the ear…

PS: BigBruv, me old china. Interesting that you (of all people) should raise the topic of lying again… Any thoughts about apologising for your own lie about Louisa Wall yet? C’mon old fulla, you can do it! Think of it as a test of character.

I also heard Brownlee on Nat Radio. What a nasty piece of work he is. He didn’t even apologise for his lies and misinformation.
Why is it any government’s fault for a very rusty shackle that caused a power cut? An inspection process is required, and was not done properly by the contractor (who should be sued).
Running out of Maui gas is not Labour’s fault. Of course power prices would rise without cheap gas. Brownlee’s lies and incompetence should be exposed.
